Screen feed controls regulate the movement of the filter screen based on our proprietary algorithm that has been developed and refined over decades of use in thousands of installations. Directed by this logic, our screen changers become a fully integrated element of the extrusion process, delivering optimum performance.
PLC Based FLIP/FLOP™ (On/Off) Controls
The operating mode of these controls is based on an ON/OFF algorithm which produces repetitive, cyclical rates of screen travel. Parameters settings can be modified via the PLC display.

General Features
- Screen advances based on a simple time - sequence pattern ON / OFF
- AUTO / TEST / MELT / CHECK modes available for ease of operation
- Timers settings can be adjusted to produce a constant rate of screen travel
- Algorithm has built in safety features to prevent malfunction and operator setting error
- Settings password protected
- Temperature settings and process values can be read on the temperature indicator display
- Status of the heating elements is indicated by lights and ammeters
- Status of the controls (mode) indicated by lights
- TEST mode overrides the automatic cycle ( “manual advancement”)
- Door handle is interlocked with a disconnect switch inside the enclosure
Safety Features
- NO COOL alarm (accidental loss of coolant to the line): stops the operation of the controls. Prevents loss of the polymer seals
- NO HEAT alarm (loss of one or more of the heaters): stops the automatic operation of the controls and returns to OFF mode. Prevents tracking issues by not allowing the screen to advance without proper heating conditions
- TEST mode duration setting adjustable
Interlocking Features
- Remote start / stop allows integration with the operation of the extruder or other equipment
- Remote start / stop offers protection for accidental initiation of MELT mode while extruder is running
- NO COOL alarm (accidental loss of cooling water) allows safety integration with extruder
